Erie Steelheads Baseball
2013
Erie Steelheads Baseball was founded by Josh Constable.
September 2013
Josh and Stacey Constable had a simple but powerful vision: to create a true development platform where young athletes learn the game of baseball from experienced baseball minds and trained coaches.
The first season in the spring of 2014 began with a single 9U team, but the foundation set was never about wins and losses. From the beginning, the goal was to build something bigger — a community where players and families felt a sense of belonging, shared purpose, and pride.
Through the game of baseball, we set out to hardwire the values that matter most: family, accountability, work ethic, and character. Every practice, every rep, and every conversation was designed to reflect who we are and what we stand for. Hustle. Grit. Determination. These aren’t slogans — they are expectations, on and off the field.
What started as one team quickly became an organization rooted in trust, relationships, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

The Erie Steelheads entered a major new chapter through a strategic partnership with the All American Baseball Group, bringing the full Steelheads experience under the leadership and proven development model of the All American Baseball Center in Trafford, PA.
This collaboration expanded resources, elevated instruction, and strengthened college-recruiting support while preserving the Steelheads’ roots and values in Erie. Led by founder Dan Ninemire and supported locally by Director of Player Development Charlie Spano, the partnership introduced a unified, player-first developmental system and the launch of a new state-of-the-art All American Baseball Erie training facility.
Together, the organizations set the stage for a consistent, elite-level pathway that prepares players not only for their next season—but for the future.

All American Baseball Center Erie opened its doors bringing the experience of real player development to the forefront of youth baseball.

In the beginning of 2026, the All American Baseball Center Erie opened its doors bringing the experience of real player development to the forefront of youth baseball. As the organization evolves, we believe travel baseball can be an incredible tool for growth — but only when it’s done correctly. Too often, families fall into the trap that exists across the country: paying to play tournaments where development and teaching stop once the games begin. That’s not our model.
Our focus is fundamental instruction, intentional training, and coaches who continue to learn, adapt, and stay current with the game’s evolving landscape. This is a player-first approach led by knowledgeable coaches who understand development, accountability, and what it takes to prepare athletes for the next level — whatever that level may be.
The future of the Steelheads is rooted in the same principles that built the foundation: purpose, preparation, and people. The game will always be the platform — development is the mission.
“It brings me tremendous pride and sincere pleasure to see Charlie Spano carry forward the legacy of the Erie Steelheads Baseball Organization. Charlie’s deep history in the game and his genuine peace on the diamond make him a natural leader for the next generation of Steelheads. He is an energy elevator — someone whose passion is visible in every detail of his work. Most importantly, he upholds the same standards and expectations that our founding coaches built into the DNA of our original team. Charlie will continue to prioritize development, protect the core of our program, and innovate for the future. Erie baseball is in a great place with Charlie guiding the development process. Thank you, Charlie, for honoring our past and elevating our future.”
